12th April – Go The Distance – This morning workshop of movement and creativity invites you to explore your pace and rhythm in life, and with life. What speed and pace supports you to go the distance? What or who is measuring your distance? Are you measuring this yourself or allowing it to be influenced by other energies or people?

What are the connections in relationship to others which allow you to find your own pace and natural rhythms? And how might you notice where your pace supports you into the present moment with a possibility of relaxed resilience in your own body and soul?

Come along and explore your personal meaning of pace, rhythm, and distance with us, and see where the journey leads you.

Using our usual combo of movement and making things, Jayne and Andrea offer you a unique creative blend to support you into a balanced rhythm with your own pace of life.

Jayne Johnson’s dynamic playlists and passion for exploring freedom in life through movement and dance encourages us to find our own unique way that enables our energy to flow, and encourages us to move as community.

Andrea Hobbs brings her curiosity and experience of crafting, creating, and mark-making in groups as a medium for inner change, enabling our inner worlds to be expressed in physical-world forms both individually and as a collective experience.

Each half-day workshop offers a different theme that is intuitively brought into being by Jayne and Andrea together, and offered as a journey through the year to enhance your life-force. No experience or skill in either dance or art/craft is required. These workshops are designed to enable you to be fully yourself in a safe and welcoming space.

2025 dates: 12th April, 14th June, 13th September, 15th November

The half day session will invite you to move to carefully curated playlists, rooting your body through the creation of objects, installations, or marks, interwoven with your personal rhythms of movement. Using these two non-verbal creative mediums, we will explore relationship with our selves, and with the wider world: the natural and man-made environment, and everything in the seen (physical) and unseen (metaphysical) realms.

We invite you to gently explore your own unique creative expression in an experimental, embodied, and explorative way without any specific goal or achievements in mind.

Jayne is an experienced movement workshop leader, wild therapist, body psychotherapist, and shamanic practitioner.

Andrea is experienced in facilitating creative groups and retreats for women. Using art and craft as a therapeutic medium, she is also a wild therapist, Mind Calm meditation coach, and oracle card reader.

Booking is required. £30 per session if you book 1 month before the date and £40 full price after that.

The hall at Gilling West is an inviting communal space with a sprung oak floor that means our indoor dancing has a connection to the trees in the wild.

Teas and coffee with light snacks will be available during the mid-morning break, but please bring anything that you need for your own comfort.

We suggest you wear layered and loose fitting clothes, and you may wish to bring along something to sit or lie on, a blanket for warmth, as well as a journal or notebook. The floor is suitable for bare feet, but you may wish to wear non-slip socks or light shoes.

All suitable art materials for the making will be provided.
